Tour Overview

The Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary offers another perfect Proboscis monkeys observation spot for any tourist who wants to have a closer look at these very special monkey especially those who do not have the time to travel too far away to watch them. The Sanctuary is located at the center of the mangrove forest along the coastal land near Samawang Village in Labuk Bay, Sandakan, Sabah. From the airport, it is 38km away and takes about an hour to get there. Part of the trip will be through the graveled roads through plantation estates.

5.00am

Visit Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre

  • Pickup from hotel lobby/ resort lounge and send to Kota Kinabalu International Airport and depart for Sandakan (recommended ETD 07.00am).
  • Once arrive, you will be greeted by guide and transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre.
  • We proceed to watch a video show about the plight of the Orang Utans and the rehabilitation efforts ongoing at the centre.

10.00am

Visit Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre

  • Walk ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden boardwalks to witness the feeding of the Orang Utans then we continue in the newly completed enclosed nursery area for young Orang Utans.
  • Thereafter, visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about conservation of the world’s smallest bear.

12.00pm

Proceed to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary

  • After lunch, we will proceed to the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary.
  • We will trek to witness the feeding of Proboscis Monkeys and the elusive Silver Leaf Languor's in the sanctuary.

3.00pm

Return to airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu city

  • Transfer to the airport for your late afternoon for your flight bound for Kota Kinabalu city (recommended ETD 1800hrs).
  • On arrival, you will be met our representative and transferred to the hotel/ resort lounge.
